About Formula 1

It is dubbed as F1 shortly. It is the sporting organization which the engine and automobile manufacturers demonstrate their technologies at the highest level. Formula 1 (in Turkish it means Formül) is the overall structure which states the rules of the competition, and arranges how the teams joining the speed contest will take part on the runway with what kind of a vehicle, with how a team, according to which standards, with what type of an electronically equipment. In other words, “Formula”, designates the collection of rules that all the participants and the vehicles have to comply. The very first World Championship race of the Formula 1, which is also renowned as Grand Prix, was performed at the Silverstone speedway in England in 1950. In the Formula 1 races, which rooted at European Grand Prix Motor Races at 1920s and 1930s, each Grand Prix race is being run at another country's racecourse. Vodafone McLaren Mercedes, Williams, Renault (Benetton named before) and Ferrari teams form “the Grand Four”. The races with 11 teams attending two pilots nowadays will be run on 18 different circuits on 5 continents.
