Our Environmental Activities:

Waste management

The scope of our waste management includes separately collecting our dangerous wastes, transporting them with licensed vehicles and disposing/recycling them in licensed companies.

Metal wastes, wooden wastes, waste nylons, plastics, cables, cardboards and pasteboards are collected after being separated from each other to make recycling easier.

Office originated papers are recycled by the ÇEKÜL foundation.

Air Emissions

The TNV (Thermic Post Burning) unit in Hoşdere painting facility is a system which had been installed before the start of the operations in 1995 aimed at reducing solvent emissions in this facility. The RNV (Regenerative Post Burning) facility first started its operation in our Davutpaşa factory in 1999 with an investment of DM 500.000 and has been integrated to Hoşdere Painting Facility when our painting facility was moved to this place at a later time.
The emission report prepared every year as a result of the measurements made is presented to official authorities to declare that we are conforming to the limits specified in the regulations.

Waste water

Waste water originating from our factory are treated in our waste water treatment plant which started its operation after the investments made in 2006 and now complies to the limits of the European Union, which are higher than the limits required by Turkish regulations. Observation and measurement are being carried out by accredited independent organizations and establishments as well as the MBT Environment Laboratories.

Emergencies

The following trainings are given for the implementation of the detailed Emergency Case Plans prepared in relation to ISO 14001:

  • Fire trainings
  • Trainings concerning intervention to chemical material spills
  • Rescue trainings

Evacuation drills are carried out in our facilities with certain intervals with the participation of all employees.

Chemical Material Management

All chemical materials used in MBT facilities are being tracked with Chemical Material Tracking lists.  MBT Material Safety Information Forms for chemical materials are kept in storage and/or usage areas, and employees are informed about the materials that they are using with these forms.
